IRGC Terror Designation in the EU: A Major Blow to the Regime
Berlin, Germany – Tehran Threatens Europe and Blames the U.S. and Israel
Following the EU’s decision on January 29, 2026 to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, Iran’s senior military leadership issued threats, warning that the move would have direct consequences for Europe. European governments were accused of acting against Iran in lockstep with the United States and Israel. At the same time, the leadership insisted that the IRGC (Sepah), the military force created to defend the Islamic Revolution, is a legitimate and powerful actor in the fight against terrorism.
These threats expose the regime’s fear. By resorting to intimidation, the military leadership effectively confirms the regime’s own terrorist nature, one that serves to protect an antisemitic, apocalyptic system and its supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
The terrorist designation of the IRGC represents a major political turning point. It aligns with the interests of the Iranian people and the Jin Jiyan Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement. If implemented consistently, it would provide a legal framework for dismantling IRGC networks operating in Europe. If it remains largely symbolic, however, it will have little tangible impact on the regime.
Full implementation would also require closing regime-linked embassies used to promote and coordinate terror activities across Europe and recalling ambassadors from Tehran.
The alliance Broad Solidarity for Freedom and Equality in Iran, consisting of 11 political parties, welcomes the EU’s decision and expresses its readiness to cooperate with the German federal government in supporting the struggle for democracy, equality, and the rights of women and minorities in Iran.

IRGC-Terrorlistung in der EU: Paukenschlag für das Regime – Teheran droht Europa und macht USA und Israel verantwortlich
Der Mullah-Generalstab drohte nach der Terrorlistung der Revolutionsgarden in der EU am 29. Januar 2026, dass diese Europa direkt treffen würde. Europa werde beschuldigt, im Gefolge der USA und Israels gegen den Iran zu handeln. Gleichzeitig betont der Generalstab, Sepah – die Revolutionsgarde der islamischen Revolution – sei ein legitimes und starkes Instrument im Kampf gegen Terrorismus.
Die Drohungen des Regimes offenbaren seine Angst. Der Generalstab erpresst und bestätigt damit seine eigene Terrornatur, die das antisemitische, apokalyptische Regime und dessen Führer Ali Khamenei schützt.
Die Terrorlistung der Revolutionsgarde ist ein politischer Paukenschlag und dient den Interessen der iranischen Bevölkerung sowie der Jin Jiyan Azadi/Frau Leben Freiheit-Bewegung. Wenn die EU sie konsequent umsetzt, wird sie zur rechtlichen Grundlage, um IRGC‑Strukturen in Europa zu zerschlagen. Bleibt sie hingegen vor allem symbolisch, ändert sich materiell kaum etwas für das Regime.
Zur vollständigen Umsetzung der Terrorlistung müssten zudem die Mullah-Terrorbotschaften in europäischen Ländern geschlossen und die Botschafter aus Teheran zurückgerufen werden.
Das Bündnis „Broad Solidarity for Freedom and Equality in Iran“ begrüßt die EU-Terrorlistung der Revolutionsgarde und zeigt sich bereit für eine Kooperation mit der Bundesregierung zur Unterstützung der Bewegung für Demokratie, Gleichberechtigung sowie Frauen- und Minderheitenrechte im Iran.
